Is Your Home a Refuge from the Storm?

Updated: Feb 20, 2020

I absolutely love these verses! It is so amazing to see this prophecy by Isaiah happening TODAY.

When the Israelites were wandering in the wilderness, the “cloud and smoke by day” led them to know where to go. And the “flaming fire by night” gave them warmth, light, and protection.

They were also given a “tabernacle”, a temple, that was their refuge, both spiritually and temporally.

In our day, it’s not enough for us to have a spiritual fortress to go to often. We must BUILD ONE that we can DWELL IN.EVERY home in Zion can be a place of defense from the evils of our day. That is one of the main messages from our living Prophet, President Nelson. He has warned us of increasing attacks of the adversary, and has given us specific “counterstrategies” and “proactive plans.”

What are they?

SEEK PERSONAL REVELATION: “I urge you to stretch beyond your current spiritual ability to receive personal revelation” (April 2018).

GOSPEL LEARNING IN THE HOME “the new home-centered, Church-supported integrated curriculum has the potential to unleash the power of families, as each family follows through conscientiously and carefully to transform their home into a sanctuary of faith” (Oct. 2018).

REGULAR TEMPLE ATTENDANCE: “I urge you to find a way to make an appointment regularly with the Lord—to be in His holy house—then keep that appointment with exactness and joy.” (Oct. 2018)
